1 Dead From 101 Freeway Crash Near Universal Studios
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 14, 2024) — A fatal single-vehicle crash happened early Sunday morning on the Hollywood (101) Freeway near Universal Studios, according to authorities.
The accident took place around 4:40 a.m. on the southbound side of the freeway at Universal Studios Boulevard. A white sedan collided with a concrete barrier on the right shoulder and burst into flames, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The victim’s details, including age and gender, have not been released, and their identity is being withheld until next of kin are notified. The crash near Universal Studios is still being investigated. A Sigalert for the southbound 101 Freeway at the Universal Studios on-ramp was issued at 5:52 a.m. and lifted at 6:05 a.m.
