1 Dead in Head-On Crash in Shadow Hills

SHADOW HILLS, CA (July 19, 2024) — A head-on crash in Shadow Hills near Tujunga resulted in one death and left another person seriously injured Thursday afternoon.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the collision occurred around 12:50 p.m. on the 8400 block of West La Tuna Canyon Road. Video footage from local news showed a silver Kia and a white Dodge sedan, both with severe front-end damage, positioned on the roadway’s shoulder.

First responders reportedly found one person trapped in each vehicle. A man in his 30s was extricated using heavy equipment and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Firefighters and paramedics assisted in removing the deceased from the vehicle for transfer to the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office. The identity of the deceased remains undisclosed, and the crash is under investigation.
