19-Year-Old Chevy Driver Killed in Escondido Rollover Crash [Escondido, CA]

ESCONDIDO, CA (May 23, 2024) — A 19-year-old man from Murrieta died in a rollover crash on Interstate 15 Tuesday morning, authorities reported.
Around 6:30 a.m., a Chevrolet Silverado and a Ford F-150 collided while traveling northbound on I-15, south of Deer Springs Road near Escondido, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Ford spun out and stopped in the center divider, while the Chevrolet veered right, overturned several times, and ended up on the right shoulder.
The driver of the Chevrolet died at the scene, and his 19-year-old female passenger was taken to the hospital with major injuries. The 24-year-old driver of the Ford, from Descanso, was not injured.
