5-Year-Old Girl Suffers Skull Fractures From San Bernardino Crash
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (June 27, 2024) — A violent six-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck in San Bernardino County has left 5-year-old Dalilah Coleman facing a long and uncertain recovery after sustaining two skull fractures. The crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. on June 20 at the intersection of Highway 395 and Calleja Road in Adelanto.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reported multiple injuries, including Dalilah, who was airlifted to Loma Linda Children’s Hospital. Dalilah and her mother’s ex, who was driving, were en route to visit her stepsister when their vehicle was struck by a semi-truck.
Witnesses suggested the truck driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, causing the collision while traffic was stopped due to construction. Dalilah suffered a fractured skull, a broken leg, and other injuries. She now faces extensive neurological and physical therapy and will need a helmet.
The sheriff’s department is investigating the semi-truck crash in San Bernardino and has not yet determined who was at fault. Marcus Coleman, Dalilah’s father, expressed frustration over the lack of timely communication from authorities. A GoFundMe has been set up by the family to assist with Dalilah’s recovery expenses.
