SAN DIEGO, CA (November 18, 2024) – A 34-year-old woman was paralyzed Friday morning when the motorcycle she was riding on fell during a wheelie attempt in the Miramar neighborhood of San Diego, police reported. The crash occurred around 11 a.m. at 8800 Kenamar Drive.
According to the San Diego Police Department, a 22-year-old man driving a 2018 Suzuki motorcycle tried to perform a wheelie while the woman was riding as a passenger.
The stunt caused both riders to fall off the bike. The driver sustained a foot injury, while the woman suffered a fractured vertebrae, leaving her paralyzed below the mid-back. Both were transported to a hospital for treatment.
