Pursuit of Stolen Vehicle in Boyle Heights Ends in Crash, Four Minors Hospitalized

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 24, 2024) — Four teens were hospitalized after a high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle ended in a crash in Boyle Heights on Tuesday night. Deputies from the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station initiated the pursuit when they attempted to stop the vehicle, which then sped away.
The chase continued onto the northbound 5 Freeway, with the teens losing control of the car while exiting at Calzona Street. The vehicle crashed into a wall on the off-ramp, severely damaging the front end and trapping three of the teens inside.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, extricated the trapped juveniles, and transported all four to a local hospital for medical attention. The suspects, believed to be between the ages of 12 and 14, are currently receiving care, though the specifics of their injuries have not been disclosed.
