Health Company Execs Charged in Multi-Million-Dollar Adderall Scheme

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 21, 2024) — Ruthia He, founder and CEO of Done Global Inc., and David Brody, Clinical President of Done Health P.C., have been arrested and charged in a multi-million-dollar scheme to distribute Adderall and other controlled substances without legitimate medical purposes.
He, arrested in Los Angeles, will appear in an LA court, while Brody, arrested in San Rafael, will make his first appearance in a San Francisco court.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California alleges that He and Brody facilitated easy online access to Adderall for a monthly fee, generating over $100 million and distributing over 40 million Adderall pills. Court documents also report that some Done patients overdosed and died, though specifics were not provided.
Attorney General Merrick Garland stated that the Justice Department will hold those profiting from addiction accountable. DEA Administrator Anne Milgram added that the defendants exploited telemedicine rules, prescribing ADHD medications even when not medically necessary.
Prosecutors claim the pair targeted drug users, spent millions on deceptive advertisements, and restricted information available to their prescribers. The compensation structure allegedly incentivized prescribers based solely on the number of prescriptions written, not on patient care.
The Adderall scheme reportedly defrauded pharmacies, Medicare, and Medicaid. The DEA, Department of Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, and IRS Criminal Investigation are involved in the case. If convicted, He and Brody each face up to 20 years in prison for conspiracy and distribution of controlled substances charges.
