DUI Arrest in Victorville: Woman Charged After Teens Found Intoxicated in Car

VICTORVILLE, CA (March 5, 2024) — A routine traffic observation turned into a significant legal ordeal for Marissa Cardenas, 40, from Griffith Park, following her arrest for DUI and child cruelty.
The incident, which happened around 9 p.m. Saturday, began when San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies noted a black Dodge Challenger, driven by Cardenas, swerving and impacting a curb on Bear Valley Road.
The vehicle’s erratic behavior prompted a stop on Pacoima Road, where Cardenas was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Compounding the severity of the situation, two 14-year-old male relatives inside the car were also discovered to be intoxicated, alongside an open container of malt liquor.
The teenagers received medical attention for their acute intoxication levels before being released to their parents. Cardenas, in the meantime, faces charges for driving under the influence and cruelty to a child. After her arrest, she secured release on bail.
