18-year-old Braun Levi is the confirmed victim of a fatal car crash that happened in the 100 block of South Sepulveda Boulevard Manhattan Beach early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred shortly after 12:45 a.m. Levi was in the pedestrian lane when he was suddenly struck by 33-year-old driver named Jenia Belt, who was suspected to be driving under the influence.
Levi was rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Belt was then arrested by local police on suspicion of DUI and homicide.
School administration, family, and friends expressed their grief and mourning for young Levi. They gathered on Sunday evening to honor his life with a vigil.
