A bicyclist was fatally struck in a hit-and-run crash in the Green Meadows neighborhood of South Los Angeles on Saturday morning.
Per the police, the incident happened around 5:25 a.m. at the intersection of Towne Avenue and 92nd Street. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the bicyclist was riding through the intersection when a vehicle traveling at high speed hit him and fled the scene.
The victim, described only as an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. His identity has not yet been publicly released.
Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver involved. No description of the suspect vehicle was immediately available.
LAPD’s South Traffic Division is leading the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact investigators or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
