A woman was left dead and two others injured — including a child — after a catastrophic crash that took place at the intersection of S. Watt Avenue and Kiefer Boulevard in Rosemont Sunday evening.
The accident reportedly took place at about 5:50 p.m. A woman was behind the wheel of an Infiniti Sedan driving east with a man and a child as passengers, while a male driver was traveling in his Lexus sedan toward the south.
The crash happened when one of the vehicles ran a red light, causing a collision.
The Infiniti driver was rushed to the hospital under critical condition, and she later died. Her two passengers sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the Lexus was left unharmed, according to authorities. Whether or not DUI was a factor in the crash is still being investigated.
