Amtrak Train Collides with Vehicle in Elk Grove
ELK GROVE, CA (September 28, 2024) — An Amtrak train traveling from Sacramento to Bakersfield struck a vehicle on the tracks near Elk Grove early Friday morning, officials reported. The collision involving train 702 occurred just before 7 a.m.
Amtrak stated that 19 passengers and crew members were on board at the time. No injuries have been reported among those on the train, but it remains unclear if anyone in the vehicle was injured.
