Apple Valley Rollover Crash Claims Lives of Two Young Adults [Apple Valley, CA]

APPLE VALLEY, CA (March 10, 2024) — The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office has identified Albert Flores and Zaira Y. Aviles, both 18 years old and residents of Colton, as the victims of a fatal rollover crash that occurred on the morning of March 6, 2024 on the I-15 freeway in Apple Valley.

 

The incident unfolded just north of Dale Evans Parkway on the northbound lanes of the I-15 when a 2023 Kia Forte, driven at a high speed, veered off the roadway. 

 

The California Highway Patrol reports indicate that the vehicle failed to maintain its lane, drifted into the adjacent open desert terrain, and subsequently became airborne upon encountering uneven dirt surfaces. 

 

The car overturned multiple times in a horrifying sequence that led to the ejection of both the driver and passenger, who were not restrained at the time. Both young individuals succumbed to their fatal injuries at the scene.
