Car Crashes into Ridgecrest Residence, Kern County FD Rescues Driver
RIDGECREST, CA (February 19, 2024) — A catastrophic incident unfolded in Ridgecrest on Saturday morning when a car barreled into a residential home on North Norma Street.
The Kern County Fire Department received the call at 9:13 a.m., dispatching multiple engines to the scene. Upon arrival, responders found a vehicle embedded in the front wall of the house, with the driver trapped inside.
Firefighters quickly sprang into action, providing medical treatment to the driver while simultaneously securing the building’s utilities for safety. The extrication process was swift, with the driver being safely removed within five minutes and handed over to Liberty Ambulance for further care.
Ridgecrest Police also supported the emergency response efforts. It is not yet known what caused the accident, but an investigation is ongoing.
