Chaos in DTLA: Metro Bus Hijacked, Crashes into Ritz-Carlton

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 21, 2024) — A Metro Bus was hijacked in downtown Los Angeles late Wednesday, resulting in a crash into several parked vehicles and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
According to reports, the DTLA Metro Bus hijack began at 11:40 p.m. near the GRAMMY Museum at L.A. Live, where the alleged hijacker brandished a gun at the Metro bus driver, forcing him to lose control and collide with parked vehicles before slamming into the side of the prestigious hotel.
Despite the chaos, law enforcement officers from the Central Division swiftly responded to the scene, apprehending the suspect as he attempted to flee.
Thankfully, a potential tragedy was averted as the recovered firearm turned out to be a replica. However, both the Metro driver and a female passenger from one of the parked vehicles sustained moderate injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
