Driver Killed in San Joaquin County After Pickup Crashes into Tractor

SAN JOAQUIN, CA (May 16, 2024) — A pickup truck driver was killed early Thursday morning after colliding with a tractor hauling farm equipment near Linden, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The accident occurred shortly before 5 a.m. on East Comstock Road near North Duncan Road.
For reasons yet unknown, the pickup truck struck the farm equipment from behind, causing the vehicle to overturn and partially eject the driver. Paramedics pronounced the driver dead at the scene. Initial reports incorrectly indicated that a big rig was involved in the San Joaquin truck crash.
The roadway, which was closed for several hours following the accident, was fully reopened by 8 a.m. as authorities continue their investigation.
