DUI Arrest in Yucca Valley After Crash Injures Pregnant Woman
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 15, 2024) — Deputies arrested Wayne Major in Yucca Valley on Monday for DUI after he caused two crashes, including one that sent a pregnant woman to the hospital. Authorities said Major was in possession of fentanyl at the time.
The first crash occurred before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Sage Avenue. Major reportedly drove into a car waiting at a red light before speeding south on Sage. Minutes later, Major ran a stop sign at the intersection of Aster Avenue and Onaga Trail, crashing into another vehicle. The driver, a woman in her late-term pregnancy, was seriously injured.
The second collision caused Major’s car to roll multiple times, stopping in someone’s yard. Both the pregnant woman and Major’s passenger, who suffered traumatic injuries, were taken to the hospital. Major also sustained major injuries and was booked into custody after his release from the hospital.
Deputies continue to investigate both accidents. Anyone with information on the Yucca Valley DUI crash is asked to contact the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station at 760-366-4175.
