DUI Driver Arrested After Fatal Red-Light Crash in LA

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 13, 2024) — In a tragic incident in Los Angeles’ Gramercy Park area, a man lost his life in a devastating crash involving a suspected DUI driver. The crash occurred just before midnight at the South Western Avenue and West Century Boulevard intersection.
Authorities reported that a gray Tesla, driven by a 26-year-old woman, allegedly ran a red light while heading south on Western Avenue, colliding with a silver Chevrolet Malibu traveling east on Century.
The intense impact of the crash was captured on surveillance footage, showing the two vehicles colliding at the intersection.
The driver of the Malibu was declared deceased at the scene, leaving behind a young child. The Tesla’s driver underwent a sobriety test and was subsequently arrested, facing potential felony DUI charges.
Two passengers from the Tesla were also hospitalized with conditions that were not disclosed. The intersection was cleared and reopened around 4 a.m. after a thorough investigation.
