GARDEN GROVE, CA (May 14, 2024) — A woman was killed early Sunday morning after a suspected DUI driver crashed into her Garden Grove home.
The tragic incident occurred around 1:55 a.m. in the 11800 block of Magnolia Street when a man driving a 2019 Toyota Camry struck the house, according to Garden Grove Police Department investigators.
The victim, identified as 40-year-old Janet Carrillo, was trapped by the vehicle after it collided with her home. Despite efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers responded to multiple hit-and-run reports and were directed to the suspect, who had fled the scene. He was arrested without incident. The driver, whose name has not been released, appeared to be under the influence, which likely contributed to the Garden Grove DUI crash.
