Fatal Crash on 91 Freeway in Corona Leaves One Dead, Four Injured

CORONA, CA (July 29, 2024) — A car veered off the 91 Freeway in Corona and struck a parked vehicle on the shoulder, resulting in one death and four severe injuries, the California Highway Patrol reported Monday.
The Corona car crash happened at around 11 p.m. on Saturday, west of McKinley Street on the westbound side of the freeway. Two disabled cars, a BMW and a Hyundai, were stopped on the right shoulder with five occupants standing nearby.
A Nissan, for unknown reasons, veered right and struck the BMW’s rear, pushing it into the pedestrians. One person was killed, and four others were hospitalized with major injuries. The Nissan driver, a 35-year-old Long Beach man, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
