Fatal Head-On Car Crash on Shore Road [Los Angeles, CA]
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 20, 2024) — The California Highway Patrol Hollister-Gilroy is looking into a fatal head-on collision that happened early Wednesday morning on Shore Road.
At around 3:55 a.m., officers were called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Shore Road, east of Lake Road. A 1999 Toyota Camry, driven by a 20-year-old man from Los Banos, veered into the opposite lane, colliding head-on with a westbound 2020 Hyundai Accent driven by a 67-year-old man from Hollister.
The 20-year-old driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained critical injuries. He was initially taken to Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital with plans to be transferred to Natividad Medical Center, but he died before he could be airlifted. The 67-year-old driver of the Hyundai suffered minor injuries and received treatment at Natividad Medical Center.
