Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Lakeside Involves High-Speed Collision
LAKESIDE, CA (April 18, 2024) — An incident on Winter Gardens Boulevard in Lakeside resulted in the death of a motorcyclist on Tuesday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the Lakeside motorcycle crash occurred around 8:05 p.m., involving a high-speed motorcycle and a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber reported that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R. Concurrently, a 28-year-old Lakeside man driving the Ford entered the same lane from a driveway. The motorcycle rapidly approached the rear of the pickup and was unable to stop, resulting in a collision that engulfed both vehicles in flames.
The motorcyclist was transported to UCSD Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The occupants of the Ford, both the driver and a passenger, were unharmed. The identity of the deceased will be confirmed by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
