Four Rescued in South LA Motel Fire

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 28, 2024) — Firefighters saved four individuals from a fire at a South Los Angeles motel, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reported.
The fire started around 8 p.m. Thursday at a two-story motel on South Broadway, engulfing both floors. The LAFD launched an immediate response to control the blaze. Witnesses described a chaotic scene with smoke, police, and helicopters.
Firefighters found four injured victims suffering from smoke inhalation and burns during the rescue operation. LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey confirmed that the victims were a man and a woman in their 30s, and two teenage girls. They were all taken to the hospital in fair condition. The South LA motel fire was brought under control by 8:20 p.m. The cause is still under investigation.
