Head-On Crash in Truckee Injures Five, Two Critically
TRUCKEE, CA (August 25, 2024) — A head-on crash in Truckee on Saturday left five people injured, with two in critical condition, according to the Truckee Fire Protection District. The accident happened about half a mile south of West River Street on Highway 89.
Three of the injured were transported to Tahoe Forest Hospital with moderate injuries, while the two critically injured individuals were taken to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. Officials noted that a heavy rainstorm swept through the area, leading to six vehicle accidents between 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
