Hit-and-Run Driver Kills Pedestrian on 101 Freeway in Downtown LA
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 31, 2024) — Authorities are on the lookout for a driver who struck and killed a pedestrian on the 101 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles late Thursday night before fleeing the scene.
The fatal incident happened around midnight near the Los Angeles Street exit. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking in the lanes of the freeway when they were hit by a vehicle that did not stop.
CHP officials are urging anyone with information about the vehicle or driver to come forward, as no descriptions are currently available. The victim’s identity has not yet been released. The 101 freeway hit-and-run crash led to a temporary Sigalert in the area, which has since been cleared.
