Honda Recalls 40,700 Off-Road Motorcycles for Safety Fixes

CALIFORNIA (July 8, 2024) — Honda has issued a recall for approximately 40,700 off-road motorcycles spanning model years 2023-2024 due to a hazard where grips may detach from the handlebars, posing risks of crashes and injuries.
The models affected in the Honda motorcycle recall include CRF50F, CRF110F, and CRF125F, with the CRF50F and CRF110F available in red or white, and the CRF125F exclusively in red. All models display the “HONDA” logo on the seats and have the model number printed on the frame above the engine.
Owners can find their vehicle identification number (VIN) on the left side of the steering head to verify if their motorcycle is part of the recall. Honda urges all owners of the recalled motorcycles to cease operation immediately and contact American Honda Motor for a free inspection and repair. Honda dealerships will handle the repairs, and the company has begun directly notifying known purchasers.
There has been one reported incident involving these models resulting in a knee injury. The motorcycles were available for purchase nationwide from September 2022 through May 2024, with prices ranging from $1,700 to $3,900.
