Multi-Vehicle Collision in San Diego’s Sherman Heights Injures Several
SHERMAN HEIGHTS, CA (July 1, 2024) — A vehicle collided with another stopped on a residential road in San Diego early Sunday, resulting in several injuries and damage to parked vehicles, police said.
The Sherman Heights accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. at 2400 J St., near the intersection of 24th Street in the Sherman Heights neighborhood, according to the San Diego Police Department.
A 1998 Honda was stopped mid-block facing eastbound when a 2015 BMW, driven by an 18-year-old man traveling eastbound, rear-ended the stopped vehicle. The impact caused the stopped vehicle to strike two parked cars.
Five passengers in the BMW were taken to a hospital, and the driver sustained an open fracture to his lower left leg. The reason why the vehicle was stopped in the roadway is not yet known, and the extent of the damage to the parked vehicles is unclear. It is also unclear if there were any passengers in the stopped Honda.
