A 25-year-old woman suspected of DUI lost control of a Ford Fiesta on Highway 12 east of Clements Road in Clements at around 3:40 p.m. on Sunday.
The vehicle spun into the westbound lane and collided with a Toyota Tacoma traveling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Fiesta and two passengers, all unrestrained and believed to be in their 20s, died at the scene. Two additional occupants in the Fiesta sustained injuries. The driver of the Tacoma sustained minor injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the DUI crash in San Joaquin County to determine contributing factors, including whether impairment was involved.
