
LOS ANGELES, CA – LA police are investigating an assault in the Carthay neighborhood, where a man was beaten by a group of juveniles on bicycles. The attack, which took place Saturday afternoon, was captured on video and has sparked concerns among residents.
According to witnesses, the altercation began around 4:30 p.m. near San Vicente Boulevard and McCarthy Vista when the juveniles reportedly damaged the victim’s car. The man exited his vehicle to confront them, leading to a physical attack.
Video footage shows the group surrounding and striking the victim before eventually dispersing.
While the victim suffered head trauma and facial injuries, he declined medical transport. Authorities have not classified the attack as a hate crime but are continuing their investigation.
City Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky denounced the violence, urging anyone with information on the Carthay neighborhood assault to assist law enforcement.
