
SAN JOSE, CA – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning in San Jose, marking the city’s fourth fatal traffic collision of the year.
Officers responded around 2:15 a.m. to reports of a crash in the 1700 block of South White Road, where they found the victim suffering from major injuries. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined that a 2005 Buick SUV was traveling south on South White Road near Park Lane when it struck the pedestrian. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The identity of the pedestrian killed in San Jose has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. South White Road was temporarily closed between Mt. McKinley Drive and Rocky Mountain Drive following the incident.
