A 20-year-old woman was killed, and three others were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Hayward on Saturday night, police said.
The collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. near Hayward Boulevard and Civic Avenue. The deceased was a passenger in a car driven by a 19-year-old man, police said. An 18-year-old female passenger was hospitalized in critical but stable condition, while a juvenile male passenger was also taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.
The driver of a second vehicle, a 21-year-old man, suffered minor injuries but is stable. A third driver, a 37-year-old man, reported minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
Authorities are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the Hayward multi-vehicle crash. This marks the city’s third fatal crash of the year.
