
A multi-vehicle collision in Fresno County early Thursday morning resulted in the death of a 21-year-old woman.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 5 a.m. on southbound Interstate 5 and Highway 33, after one car was struck and forced into another lane.
Emergency responders airlifted the woman to Community Regional Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.
Six additional individuals involved in the crash were also hospitalized and are now recovering. Authorities have not determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing as officials work to piece together the events that led to this Fresno County crash.
