A rollover crash along the northbound 15 Freeway in San Bernardino County left a baby dead and several others injured Sunday morning.
The single-vehicle collision happened around 9:34 a.m. roughly five miles north of the Halloran Springs exit, according to the California Highway Patrol. A white Ford Escape overturned and came to rest on its roof, blocking center lanes of traffic.
Initial reports indicated that up to five people were inside the SUV when it flipped. Emergency responders arrived to find multiple victims, including a baby who was unresponsive. Two individuals were reported in critical condition, prompting the dispatch of two air ambulances.
At least one patient was flown by Mercy Air 21 to University Medical Center in Las Vegas. San Bernardino County Fire officials temporarily shut down all northbound lanes to facilitate helicopter access. The cause of the rollover crash in San Bernardino is unknown, as of this writing.
