Authorities have identified the two individuals who died in a high-speed crash last week in Apple Valley as 32-year-old Jimmy Terriquez of Apple Valley and 16-year-old Marcos Lopez of Victorville.
The crash occurred just after midnight on April 9, 2025. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, deputies from the Apple Valley Station had observed a black 2013 Dodge Charger driving recklessly before briefly losing sight of the vehicle.
A short time later, the car was found crashed into a Southern California Edison power pole on Central Road, south of Walpi Road.
Investigators say the Charger had been traveling at a high rate of speed when it veered off the roadway and slammed into the pole. Both Terriquez, the driver, and Lopez, his passenger, died at the scene.
The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to the crash.
