BAKERSFIELD, CA — A serious traffic collision near the Kern County line resulted in major injuries Saturday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash happened around 6:10 p.m. on May 25 near the top of the bell curve on State Route 58, a heavily traveled route connecting Bakersfield to eastern Kern County and beyond. CHP officials confirmed that the incident caused major injuries, though the exact number of people hurt and vehicles involved has not yet been released.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to assist those injured. The cause of the injury crash on eastbound Highway 58 remains under investigation.
