
BAKERSFIELD, CA – A major semi-truck accident on Highway 58 Monday afternoon near Bear Mountain Boulevard sparked a brush fire alongside the roadway.
The crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. and involved a semi-truck, a vehicle that rolled down an embankment, and a possible pickup truck, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Despite the impact and overturned vehicles, no injuries were reported.
Shortly after the collision, a brush fire ignited on the right-hand side of the highway. Emergency crews responded quickly to contain the flames.
As of 11:00 p.m., Caltrans reported no road closures in the area. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
