FRESNO, CA – A woman was fatally struck in Fresno Sunday afternoon along Olive Avenue, near First Street.
According to police, the crash happened around 3:00 p.m. when a man in his 50s lost control of his vehicle, veered off the road, drove onto the curb, and hit the victim before crashing into a wooden power pole.
The woman was dragged into the intersection and died at the scene. The driver stayed at the location and is being evaluated for a possible driving under the influence (DUI).
Authorities confirmed no other injuries were reported and are working to identify the woman.
