BAKERSFIELD, CA – A serious crash on East Bear Mountain Boulevard, near Adobe Road, left one person dead and three others injured in the early hours of Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a 76-year-old man driving a 2005 Toyota Sienna westbound crossed into the eastbound lane for reasons still under investigation and collided head-on with a 2017 Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound.
The 28-year-old driver of the Corolla died at the scene. Two passengers in the Corolla sustained serious injuries and were taken to Kern Medical. The driver of the Sienna suffered moderate injuries and was also hospitalized.
CHP confirmed that alcohol or drugs are not suspected in the crash.
