
BAKERSFIELD, CA — A serious DUI accident in Bakersfield left one person dead and two others injured early Sunday morning, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
The crash occurred around 1:20 a.m. at the intersection of Panama Lane and Stine Road, involving two vehicles. A woman in her 20s, a passenger in one of the cars, died at the scene after being ejected from the vehicle. The driver of that car sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized, while the driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Police said speed and alcohol appear to have been factors in the crash. During the investigation, two additional drivers were arrested for DUI after ignoring a police barricade and approaching the accident scene; both were booked into Kern County Jail.
