LOS ANGELES, CA — Two consecutive crashes in Reseda involving Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) vehicles caused chaos and left one person injured Wednesday morning.
The first crash happened at 9:06 a.m. at the intersection of Vanowen Street and Lindley Avenue, when an LAFD rescue ambulance transporting a victim from an earlier accident collided with a light gray sedan, according to authorities.
At 9:46 a.m., a battalion chief with the LAFD who had arrived to investigate the initial crash was also involved in a collision with another vehicle at the same intersection.
According to the department, no firefighters were injured in either crash. The only person hurt was the patient being transported in the ambulance, who sustained minor injuries.
Both the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and the LAFD have launched investigations to determine the causes of the back-to-back collisions in the busy Reseda intersection.
