LONG BEACH, CA — A road rage incident in Long Beach ended tragically, killing one innocent driver and injuring three others, including passengers and the driver involved, local authorities reported.
The crash happened around 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday near 7th Street and Margo Avenue. According to the Long Beach Police Department, a 2017 Mitsubishi Fuso box truck was forced into a brick wall after being struck by a 2023 Tesla Model 3, which had been involved in a traffic altercation with a dark-colored Subaru.
Paramedics arrived immediately, but the truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers from the truck and the Tesla driver were hospitalized with injuries. The deceased driver’s identity has not been released, while the Tesla driver was identified as a 31-year-old man from San Diego.
Witnesses said both vehicles were weaving through traffic at unsafe speeds before the collision. The impact sent the box truck through a brick wall, causing it to overturn. Although the truck was carrying hazardous materials, no spills were reported.
