FRESNO, CA – A homeless man tragically lost his life Monday afternoon after being hit by a car on Clovis Avenue near Kings Canyon Road while crossing during heavy traffic.
According to Fresno police, the victim, known to frequent the area, was struck while attempting to cross the street. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with investigators.
The southbound lanes of Clovis Avenue at Tulare Avenue were closed for one to two hours as authorities conducted their investigation.
Police confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
