SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, CA – A driver was arrested Tuesday after crashing into another vehicle while fleeing from police in the San Fernando Valley, California.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) attempted to stop the driver around 2:15 p.m. on Victory Boulevard near Woodman Avenue in Van Nuys. The driver, in a white four-door Lexus, refused to pull over, sparking a chase through Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks, and Burbank.
The San Fernando Valley police chase ended in Burbank when the Lexus collided with a red SUV driven by an innocent motorist. The impact heavily damaged the Lexus’ hood and front bumper. Officers arrested the driver while removing him from the wrecked vehicle.
It has not yet been confirmed whether the SUV driver was injured. The LAPD also has not disclosed why it initially attempted to stop the driver.
