LONG BEACH, CA. – A 60-year-old man died Saturday night after crashing into a tree on Willow Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
The DUI accident in Long Beach happened shortly before 10:50 p.m. at the intersection of Willow Street and Easy Avenue, where a 2002 Toyota Camry struck the center median.
Witnesses reported that the driver was swerving between lanes and driving erratically before losing control and colliding with a tree. Nearby residents pulled him from the vehicle and tried to help until Long Beach Fire Department paramedics arrived. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities confirmed that no other vehicles were involved. Alcohol and speed are being investigated as possible contributing factors. The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
