LOS ANGELES, CA – A vehicle crashed into a residence in North Hollywood Sunday morning, injuring two people and resulting in one person being taken into custody, police said.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reported that crews responded to a call at 9:02 a.m. near Oxnard Avenue and Klump Street. Upon arrival, firefighters found two individuals with minor injuries, treated them on-site, and transported them to local hospitals. The identities of the injured were not released.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said one person was taken into custody, but it was unclear whether it was a formal arrest or a temporary detention. Footage from the scene showed a handcuffed man receiving medical attention in front of the crash site.
Witnesses and video footage indicated that a black sedan veered off the road, went through a fence, and struck the ground floor of a residential complex. The area was surrounded by firefighters, safety personnel, and a police helicopter.
Authorities notified building safety officials, but the extent of the property damage is still unknown. The cause of the North Hollywood car crash remains under investigation, and the exact condition of the injured has not been disclosed.
