LEMON GROVE, CA – A cyclist died Sunday night after a collision with pickup truck in Lemon Grove on Troy Street.
According to the report, the accident occurred on October 5 around 9:30 p.m. in the 8500 block of Troy Street, just east of the Camino de Las Palmas intersection. When deputies arrived, they found the cyclist and the black pickup truck involved in the crash.
The cyclist was found lying in the eastbound lane of Troy Street. Paramedics performed life-saving measures before transporting the cyclist to the hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries around 10:30 p.m.
Authorities stated that neither alcohol nor reckless driving is suspected. The pickup truck driver remained at the scene and fully cooperated with law enforcement.
The victim’s name is being withheld until family notification. The Lemon Grove Sheriff’s Substation is asking anyone with information about the accident to call 619-337-2000.
