AGUA DULCE, CA — One person was killed and two others were injured after a multi-vehicle crash in Agua Dulce, along the northbound 14 Freeway on Sunday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash happened around 9:27 p.m., just south of the Escondido Canyon Road exit. The vehicles involved included a blue Lexus SUV, a green Ford Fiesta, and a possible white pickup truck.
Initial reports indicate that the SUV rear-ended the Ford Fiesta on the right rear side. The involvement of the white truck is still under investigation by authorities.
By 9:53 p.m., CHP officers closed all northbound lanes of the freeway and requested the Los Angeles County Coroner after confirming one fatality. Two other people were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, though the extent of their injuries remains unknown.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, including whether speed or alcohol may have been factors.
