STOCKTON, CA – A tragedy struck Stockton Sunday night when a head-on collision between two vehicles, allegedly caused by a drunk driver, left three people dead and several others seriously injured. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported the crash occurred around 9:19 p.m. on Mariposa Road, west of Dobbs Road.
Authorities said an eastbound Ford crossed into the westbound lane, colliding head-on with a Hyundai carrying a family: a mother, father, and three young children.
Confirmed Victims:
- Jonathan Corona, 22 – pronounced dead at the scene
- Ariela Corona Miranda, 4 – died at the hospital
- Xitlaly Corona Miranda, 2 – died at the hospital
- 1-year-old child – hospitalized with serious injuries
- Mother driving the Hyundai – hospitalized with serious injuries
The Ford driver was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries and arrested for driving under the influence.
The victims’ family has received support through a GoFundMe created to help them during this difficult time.
CHP continues investigating the cause of the Stockton DUI crash, while authorities remind the public of the severe risks of driving under the influence of alcohol.
