LOS ANGELES, CA — A cyclist lost his life early Wednesday morning after being hit by two vehicles that fled the scene in a tragic crash in Vernon, near downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and 45th Street, according to the Vernon Police Department. When officers arrived, they found the victim, 45-year-old William Valle, lying in the roadway.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Valle was first struck by a southbound vehicle, which threw him into the northbound lanes — where he was hit again by another car.
Both drivers fled the scene without providing assistance, and police currently have no descriptions of the vehicles or suspects involved. Paramedics pronounced Valle dead at the scene.
Authorities continue to investigate and are urging anyone with information to come forward to help identify the drivers responsible.
