San Diego, CA – A Kuwaiti man was arrested Wednesday after ramming multiple vehicles of ICE in San Diego in an incident that ended in a crash in the Bay Park neighborhood.
According to neighbors, the situation put residents’ lives at risk. Authorities reported that the suspect had a violent criminal history and a final deportation order from the United States.
During the chase, the man allegedly tried to evade arrest by hitting ICE vehicles. The pursuit ended in front of homes on Dakota Drive. Neighbors described the intensity of the operation: “There were at least 10 unmarked cars descending on a quiet neighborhood, with a daycare just three houses from the crash,” one resident said.
As a result of the collisions, three federal officers were injured and treated at a local hospital along with the suspect. ICE in San Diego confirmed that it will file criminal charges for assault and resisting federal officers.
In an official statement, the agency said: “This is another unfortunate example of how unjust rhetoric against ICE can encourage individuals to flee and assault federal officers conducting lawful enforcement actions.”
